ABOUT US
Able Young Minds is a youth mental health and wellbeing charity founded by Dr Jennifer Irabor, she conducted research on youth mental health and completed psychotherapeutic counseling at The University of Cambridge. Her Research highlighted that mental, emotional and peer difficulties are highly prevalent in young people. This led to the creation of Able Young Minds. Ultimately, we aim to change the trajectory of young people’s lives by enhancing their, life skills, reasoning, emotional intelligence, and mental health. This will enable them to make better decisions and reach their full potential in employment, education, and society. Resulting in better overall well-being and more positive life outcomes.
OUR AIMS
We want young people to be able to access therapeutic and mentorship services at no cost to themselves.
We want youth mental health to be a priority.
We want young people to have a place that can connect them with timely, qualified support.
OUR STRATERGY
We develop therapeutic action plans collaboratively with young people to support their specific needs.
Able Young Minds will facilitate youth personal development and mental health via three pathways; Counseling, Coaching and Connecting. We will assist the young person by matching them with a qualified counsellor or Coach. The Connecting pathway is signposting the young person to more specialist services should they need it.
